My take on the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hour Cream Shadow

So recently, I have fell in love with cream shadows. Especially the waterproof ones. Right now my fave are the Tarte Amazonian Clay cream shadows. They are legit budge proof and I love it. Problem is, they are also about $22.00 a piece. I am currently un-employed so money is obviously tight.

I tried the Buxom Stay There shadows but they are quite the opasitte of water proof.

So when I heard that Maybelline was coming out with their own line of waterproof cream shadows, I was super excited to try them out.

At $6.95 a piece, they were a steal compared to the others that I have tried. And so far I am very impressed.

The colours in order are Fierce and Tangy, Pomegranate Punk, Tenacious Teal, Tough As Taupe, Audacious Asphalt, and Bad To The Bronze.

This is me wearing Pomegranate Punk over bare skin. After a few hours of wear I experience a small amount of creasing but nothing hugely noticeable.

So all in all, if you’re on the fence about trying them, I say go for it!

Mission statement taken from the Madd Style Cosmetics facebook page:

All of the products you will find in my shop are 100% vegan and cruelty free… right down to the packaging. I can assure you that I do not use animal products in any way nor do I use suppliers who test on animals (its against my beliefs!) And, quite bluntly, I wouldn’t shell out anything I wouldn’t buy.”

Before I discovered MSC, I was pretty ignorant to loose pigments and indie companies in general so I was a bit hesitant to try them. I was afraid of making a giant mess of myself since I’ve only ever used pressed pigments. But that’s where the MSC foiling medium, Awesome Sauce came in. Awesome sauce is 100% vegan, cruelty free, and made from vegetable glycerin, silicone, and distilled water. There are many ways I have seen people use foiling agents, but basically, it provides something for the pigment to stick to, while also working as a foiling agent by making your pigment brighter and allowing the colour to really pop. You can also using it to turn your pigments into a a great liquid liner. While using awesome sauce, I did experience creasing in the shadow, but a quick swipe over with the tip of your clean finger and that is easily fixed.

One more great thing about awesome sauce, the packaging. Awesome sauce is packaged in a squeezable tube so as to prevent dirty fingers and brushes contaminating the product. A little goes a long way and you can use it with any loose pigments so it’s definitely a great buy in my opinion.

All in all, I am very impressed with these pigment. I found them much easier to work to work with than I had anticipated and the colour is very versatile and build able. If you are on the fence about making a purchase, I definitely recommend doing so.

Leopard Print
1. Start out with 3 colors. In this case, I used neon pink, yellow, and black.
2. Paint the entire nail your base color, I chose neon pink.
3. Once the base is completely dry, (with a thin small paint brush, or I used an eyeliner brush) blot small random dots all over the nails. For this certain look I used yellow.
4. Once those dots of all shapes and sizes have dried, go around them with your third color. I used black. You dont have to be neat and tidy, leopards sopts arent! You want to only go around one or two of the edges, also create small black random dots.
